Logan County, 2026
Just Northeast of the Mad River in Logan County, areas of karst with spring-fed fissures
riddle the countryside. It is here where many of my ancestors lived for many generations.
As French trappers, they settled in and became part of the landscape. My great-great-grandfathers established orchards in what is now Bellefontaine and West Liberty, so my family, as well as myself, are always perplexed about how I ended up back here from Hawaii. I always hope to recapture what once was, in honor of the Shawnee Tribes.
