“Cold Front” Mad River Watershed
“Cold Front”
18x22 Oil on wood panel

Painting along the Mad River offers so much variability in light and seasonal color shifts. Paired with the meandering flow of a spring creek, it's truly a blessing with limitless subject matter throughout the year. This summer has been a very wet and fickle one. Fortunately, it has provided me with many days of plein air painting in ominous weather conditions. Fly fishing was a constant hit-or-miss, but my painting is typically interrupted by a baetis or midge hatch. Packing one of my 6'2" cane rods often serves as an inevitable distraction.
Thanks for letting me share
